Getting Help during times of Grief

Often when we suffer the loss of a loved one, we feel isolated, lonely and like nobody understands what we are going through. It can also be hard to share these feelings with those close to us, such as family members or friends. That is why it can help to talk to someone who is distant from the situation, or even better, someone who has been in the same situation.

Listed below are some helpline telephone numbers which you can call if you need advice or just somebody to listen to you. There are also some links for internet message boards where you can go and post your own story of grief as well as read other peoples stories. These message boards can help ease the feelings of loneliness, as you will see that there are others who understand what you are going through and even better, they are out there waiting to meet you and offer you support.

Miss Foundation Forums

The MISS Foundation is a volunteer based organization committed to providing crisis support and long term aid to families after the death of a child from any cause. This link will take you to the page to sign up to the message boards. It is completely free to join and the forums are excellent.
